4th of July-Independence Day-Greetings to the 12th Cavalry Family

How time flies by. It seems we just observed Memorial Day a short time ago. the 4th of July is special to all Vets. We, like those who signed the Declaration of Independence, pledged our lives to defend our country and we share that pledge of our forefathers and thus share the honor of our country. I salute you all on behalf of a grateful nation.
Think back over the years; our 12th Cav patrolled the Rio Grande, the southern border of our country, next in WW II the 12th dismounted, fought in the Pacific from Leyte to Tokyo. The guts of President Truman changed warfare with the Nukes - saving thousands of US and Japanese troopers lives. The 12th reappeared as Recon Squadrons in our Armored Divisions. Then in Vietnam, the 12th became the "Cavalry of the Sky", an agile airmobile fighting force in the whole of Vietnam. The 12th continues to operate world wide defending our country.
AND YOU WONDER WHY I SAY---'"Proud to be a 12th Cav Trooper". What a heritage to live with!
To all a Happy 4th and Stand Tall. Salute our flag- and remember you helped to keep it ---FLYING HIGH---

Proud to be a 12th CAV Trooper.

God Bless and Keep well.

Jim Dingeman
Honorary Colonel of the 12th Cavalry Regiment
