Hachita, NM, October 17. - Troop K, Twelfth Cavalry, stationed here, with four officers and an enlisted personnel of seventy-two men present out of a strength of eighty men, subscribed to the second Liberty Loan $14,400 from 11 AM to 1 PM on October 13th or a matter of $7,200 an hour.
Liberty Loan Acts authorized the sale of government war bonds, known as Liberty Bonds, for the purpose of financing the American involvement in World War I. The federal government raised around $14,000,000,000 with four issues of the Liberty bonds in 1917 and 1918.
